As a former dweller of Carmel as well as amongst the East Coast Snobs, I LOVE author Joe Livernois' tweakery. I'd worked with Eldon Dedini (he illustrated a book I'd penned). One of the original denizens of Doc Rickett's bar, Eldon was the epitome of Puncturers of Pontification and Snobbery who frequented the place.
